This was the second book I bought on soapmaking. I haven't found another book as good as this one since! The recipes come out perfectly every time, and it's chock full of information and references. I highly recommend this to anyone making soap.

I thought this book had a lot of good information for beginning soapmakers. Some of it is fairly outdated and she does get pretty pedantic in spots. But, overall, a very good introduction to soap making!

This was my first book I read when I decided to try and make soap. I read cover to cover twice before I started, and my first batch turned out perfect. This is a great book for the first-time soapmaker. The instructions sounded complicated the first time I read it, but made more sense the second time reading through. Don't be discouraged!

Very good information and recipe ideas; though I've gone through and reformulated her lye calculations. She superfats just a little too much; superfatting is great but I don't like soap that goes rancid

This book is very well written. Susan covers all the angles for Cold Process soapmaking. She gives recommendations based on her own experience and gives descriptions of oils, colorants, and scents.I highly recommend this book.
